01Multnomah Falls, Oregon
You’ll find the most beautiful Multnomah Falls East of Troutdale, between Corbett and Dodson in Oregon, United States, and a waterfall on Multnomah Creek in the Columbia River Gorge. Multnomah Falls, Oregon’s highest waterfall at 611 feet, is also one of the few local waterfalls that don’t dry out by late summer.
Easily accessible in under an hour from Portland, this three-tiered waterfall is just a five-minute stroll from the parking lot. Two major thoroughfares, the Ancient Columbia River Road and Interstate 84 provide easy access to the waterfall.
You can observe it from the nearby observation deck or hike it via the attached bridge. Hikers can continue up another mile to the top of the falls by a paved trail that leads to a second lookout point near Benson Bridge. As well the iconic Multnomah Falls Lodge has a restaurant, a gift store, and a visitor center.
02Redwood Forests
Redwoods are the tallest trees on the earth, and over 82 percent of the remaining old coast redwood forests are preserved in parks and reserves. More than 90 percent of the enormous sequoia forests are protected in national parks and forests. A significant amount of effort remains to be made to ensure that future generations can appreciate these lovely forests.
Walking through the park’s more than 200 miles of trails is the greatest way to take in the redwoods’ natural beauty, and there are pathways suitable for hikers of all ages and levels of fitness. Even though some paths are paved, the vast majority are covered with compacted gravel. During the summer, visitors can participate in ranger-led programs or take one of the many scenic drives available if they would rather stay in their car while viewing the redwoods.
03Niagara Falls, New York
New York has several must-see sights, but Niagara Falls is universally regarded as a must-visit destination. This landmark is undeniably fascinating in the international boundary between the United States and Canada. The Rainbow Bridge connects the two countries at Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, a Canadian city situated at the world-famous waterfalls of the same name.
Niagara Falls is a collection of three waterfalls—the Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls, and the Bridal Veil Falls—that span the international boundary between the United States and Canada. Walkways in Prospect Point Park provide a good vantage point for viewing the American Falls, but the renowned Maid of the Mist boat trip and the Cave of the Wind under Bridal Veil Falls provide tourists with a unique opportunity to get up and personal with these natural wonders.
Visitors can get a wetter, lower, behind-the-falls perspective by taking an elevator down to a lower platform. The Skylon Tower, at 520 feet in height, is an observation deck in a park on the cliff’s edge.
You can either drive or stroll across the border to the Canadian side to see the magnificent falls from a different perspective. You’ll share my awe when you witness the six million cubic feet of water (per day!) that cascade over the falls every minute.
Because of Niagara Falls’s beauty, It shouldn’t be surprising that this waterfall attracts more than 30 million tourists annually. So don’t forget to add this to your United States tour list for a relaxing vacation.
